We have asked our legal team to investigate this issue and will support lawsuits on behalf of parents whose rights were violated.

In the United States, the standard protocol is to administer the hepatitis B vaccine at birth, or shortly thereafter. The hepatitis B virus is commonly spread through unprotected sex or intravenous drug use. Because newborns do not partake in these behaviors, some parents choose not to give the hep B vaccine to their baby directly after birth. In addition, many parents are justifiably concerned that one of the two hepatitis B vaccines available for babies in the U.S. was licensed based on a clinical trial with just 5 days of safety monitoring, the other with just 4 days.
Yet even when parents clearly decline the hep B vaccine for their newborn, sometimes hospital staff or doctors administer one anyway. Regardless of whether this is due to shoddy protocols or an arrogant attitude that doctors always know better than the parent, we want to hold these providers accountable!
We’re on a mission to stop this illegal and unethical behavior. In order to do so, we need parents who are willing to stand up for their rights. Was your child given a hep B vaccine without your consent? Maybe you had a birth plan that expressly objected to the vaccine. Or maybe you declined on a written form from your doctor.
