ICAN Releases Recommendations for HHS’ Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines

After decades of absence, HHS has finally reinstated the Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines. To ensure the task force is focused on the truly critical issues, ICAN has submitted a comprehensive list of recommendations for how our broken vaccine safety system can begin to be fixed.

As ICAN previously reported, Secretary Kennedy announced in August 2025 that he would be reinstating the Task Force for Safer Childhood Vaccines—a task force that was created by Congress for the sole purpose of improving vaccine safety, but instead was shamefully ignored and disbanded by previous HHS administrations.

To ensure that HHS hears the voices of ICAN supporters and all families impacted by vaccine injury or mandates, ICAN’s legal team has drafted a detailed letter with recommendations for this new task force. The recommendations involve sweeping changes to HHS, CDC, FDA, CMS, NIH, VA, and HRSA, and cover vaccine research, vaccine safety monitoring data, the FOIA process, VAERS, VICP, the CDC immunization schedule, HHS employee conflicts of interest, vaccine information statements, FDA vaccine licensing criteria, and more.

In particular, ICAN readers will be pleased to see the following recommendations made to the Task Force:

  • Work to prohibit all medical mandates and, in any case where a mandate cannot be prohibited, require that a religious exemption be offered
  • Demand that our government cease all current and future funding of engineered pathogens, such as self-spreading vaccines
  • Require that all conflicts of interest are eliminated by prohibiting the hiring of government employees or committee members who have received anything of value from pharma

We encourage all supporters to read the letter and share it widely. For anyone who isn’t aware of the current state of vaccine safety oversight, this is an eye-opening indictment of our broken system, with common sense recommendations on how it can begin to be fixed. To be sure, ICAN will keep a close eye on this Task Force and its actions.
