ICAN SENDS COMMENT TO FDA’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGARDING PEDIATRIC USE OF COVID-19 VACCINE

On June 3, 2021, ICAN submitted a comment on the FDA docket for the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee in advance of its June 10, 2021 meeting.  Attached to the comment was ICAN’s Petition filed on May 28, 2021 requesting that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) require certain minimal clinical trial data to be submitted to the FDA before the agency approves any COVID-19 vaccine.  The Petition raised serious concerns, including with regard to pediatric populations, in licensing any COVID-19 vaccine without gathering additional data.

It was requested that the members of VRBPAC review the Citizen Petition prior to the June 10, 2021 meeting’s discussion regarding the use of COVID-19 vaccines in pediatric populations.  At that meeting, the committee did not, in the end, vote on the use of COVID-19 vaccines in pediatric populations.  When that vote is imminent, ICAN will again submit any relevant data to ensure that the committee is put on notice that the country is watching to see if they vote to recommend injecting children with an experimental vaccine.

ICAN also asks that you review the petition and submit a comment in support.  You can do so here by clicking the “Comment” button.
